All weekend kids will have a blast in the Banana Jungle while they jump, play, sing and dance with wacky banana games and performances.
The Banana Jungle will be filled with storytelling, face painting, jump houses, obstacle course, giant slide, banana dunking, banana split contests, banana games, banana crafts, mural painting, music, dancing, a climbing wall, and so much more. The Banana Jungle has its own stage with a variety of acts and entertainment just for kids.
Network for a Healthy California, Very Special Arts , and School’s Financial Credit Union will also be supporting the youth through interactive nutrition education, art projects, and opportunities to win prizes.
Please note: Carnival games and activities and events with prizes will have an additional fee to participate.

One of the highlights of the festival will be the Banana Festival Pageant. Children and youth from newborn to 17 years will exhibit their inner beauty and fun-loving banana pride. The goal of the pageant is to involve the community and promote cultural unity among residents in the Sacramento region. In the spirit of empowering our community’s youth, the 2011 Little Mr. & Little Miss Banana Pageant will be held on August 13th at 11:30 am on the children’s stage.
Each contestant will receive a certificate of participation and one contestant will be chosen as winner in each of the five age groups. Each age division winner will receive a crown, trophy and more. In addition, certificates will be given to winners of this year’s judging categories, such as “most photogenic” and “best citizen.”
